A Note From the Founder            Mission Statement           Events (coming soon)

OUR MISSION:

To empower youth to reach their full academic potential, while supporting their emotional and social development. Our goal is to involve families of color in the daily activities of their children’s education, giving them the opportunity to be active participants in their child’s classroom as well as the entire school community. We stand as bridge builders connecting families to school in order to secure a productive future for our children.

Our commitment is to structure an ethically diverse curriculum that reflects historical contributions accurately and bolsters the self esteem of every child. By stimulating the learning environment of our students we can better equip them with the skills and strategies needed to be successful participants in mainstream America.

The goals of Village United are to:

  • Place students into college preparatory courses to ensure that these students get the credit needed for entry into UC or a four year college program.

  • Provide tutors/mentors to help make learning more relevant, understandable and exciting for students.

  • Provide counseling, support and nurturing for students.

  • Monitor and track attendance, grades and behavior to ensure success in high school.

  • Provide high school retention support and provide training workshops to encourage higher education options for at risk youth.

  • Provide students with preparation for high school exit exams and college entry exams.
